A link between
management and technology.

We turn the organisation’s objectives into clear technical decisions. We bring a business perspective to IT investment and cyber risk, working directly with senior management.

We offer a second opinion on an important project, or recurring involvement in steering the IT direction, alongside your existing team and suppliers.

01

Strategy and investment

We define the IT direction, validate proposed solutions and prioritise investments by impact and risk.

02

Costs and suppliers

We control costs, coordinate suppliers and track projects against the company’s objectives.

03

Security and governance

We define and oversee the security strategy, so that technology risks are understood at management level.

WHEN THE SERVICE HELPS

A CIO at the table
for important decisions.

The service complements your existing team’s capabilities, depending on the company’s context.

  • Fragmented IT decisions

The company has no CIO function, and technical priorities are set separately from business objectives.

  • A major investment

You need a second opinion before choosing a platform, an architecture or a supplier.

  • Costs that are hard to track

You want visibility over IT budgets and clear arguments for the proposed investments.

  • Digital transformation

The changes involve several teams and suppliers and need coordination at executive level.

  • Supplier dependence

You need a perspective that represents the company’s interests in its dealings with integrators.

  • Strategic validation

There is already an IT team, and management needs support with direction and priorities.

HOW WE WORK

From context
to a concrete plan.

  1. 01

    We understand the context

Objectives, infrastructure, team and existing projects.

  2. 02

    We set the priorities

The decisions needed, their impact and the order of investments.

  3. 03

    We coordinate

One-off or recurring involvement, according to the agreed need.

DELIVERABLES

What you get from a CIO-as-a-Service mandate.

An important IT investment needs a clear business objective, a comparison of options and responsibilities agreed before implementation. A CIO-as-a-Service mandate starts from the decision the company has to make and the outcome it is aiming for.

Depending on the project, the agreed deliverables may include:

  • An assessment for management: the current situation, the relevant risks and the decisions that need attention.
  • A comparison of options: implementation and operating costs, compatibility, dependencies and contractual terms.
  • An action plan: priorities, owners, budget and acceptance criteria.
  • Project follow-up: checking progress and clarifying decisions together with the IT team and the suppliers involved.

For example, when a business platform is being replaced, the mandate can cover defining the requirements, evaluating proposals and coordinating implementation. This is an example of how we can work together; activities, deliverables and the level of involvement are agreed for each project.

CONTRIBUTING TO NIS2

Organise decisions and responsibilities.

CIO-as-a-Service can help management set IT priorities, budgets and responsibilities and coordinate suppliers within a security programme. We connect technical measures with risk and business continuity and follow up on the implementation of agreed decisions.

The service’s contribution is defined within the organisation’s security programme. Compliance also involves governance, procedures and reporting obligations, depending on applicability.

THE CIO MANDATE

Documented decisions. Clear responsibilities.

We define a concrete mandate: an infrastructure and cost review, priorities, investment options and an action plan with owners. For a project, we can compare supplier proposals and track implementation against the agreed objectives.

If a recommendation includes a solution distributed by TRU, we disclose that commercial role. Evaluation criteria and the final choice remain transparent to the company’s management.
